Robert Clergerie ‘Jador’ Sandals – The Find

During a recent preview of the new season’s range at Christine Accessories in Melbourne, Sarah and I fell in love with Robert Clergerie’s ‘Jador’ Sandal.

The model wore a beautiful outfit but all that we could recall were the best interpretation of brogues that we’d ever seen. We both faced each other and gave that stern look that says, “We love these shoes but we do not need another pair of shoes – let’s stay strong together and resist”. Um, well, clearly we have no self-control and are a (very) bad influence on each other when it comes to shopping (as well as wine, dessert, obsession with sleeping in etc). But we have no regrets – these shoes are a fantastic find!

Robert Clergerie Sandal

Robert Clergerie launched his label in 1981 in a small French town. Just like the enduring little black dress, Clergerie is famous for his masculine-feminine Oxford shoes, a man’s shoe made for women.  He is “inspired by the evolution and role fo women in society…they are increasingly independent, free and express themselves…by exchanging dresses for trousers and jackets.”

Notable fans of Robert Clergerie inlcude Sienna Miller, Rihanna and style queen Diane Kruger.

An emphatic NO to this style. These and others like it that are cropping up more and more lately shall not grace feet of this girly girl.
