A lot of Sarah’s girlfriends and mine have been turning 40 recently and we love nothing more than pooling our money together with close friends to buy something special and meaningful. And when we have a little extra cash left we love to add a beauty purchase to the gift.
What does this have to do with our latest beauty find, Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced?
Well not much except you can’t expect a women to walk into a beauty shop with the good intention of buying a gift for her friend and not walk out with a find, or two, or three…
Like candy to a child, makeup is my weakness. Yes I love and am faithful to my Kevyn Aucoin Latex Mascara, but there’s always room for more friends in my makeup bag.
The first thing you will notice is the wand is huge; it is a thicker formula compared to most mascara and can therefore carry a lot of product. As a result it applies rather thick however if you watch the tutorial, they recommend 2 coats plus a 3rd on the top of the lashes. I have long lashes already so I didn’t find it particularly lengthening, however I love this mascara as it added so much volume. This made my eyes look bigger, my lashes looked the fullest I’ve ever seen them, and the overall appearance was so dramatic.
Having said that it is the perfect mascara for after dark events, although I have worn mine during the day when I’ve wanted to do a nude eye and coloured lip. The texture can take a bit of getting used to but with practice you will certainly want to add this to your nighttime makeup routine at the very least.
Will the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara rock your world? Well I’ll leave that debate up to you but my eyelashes are certainly not complaining! (Shop Style AND Tonic story below)
